According to CCTV News (News Broadcast): The Ministry of Commerce announced that since the implementation of the consumer goods trade-in policy in 2024, related sales have reached 3.92 trillion yuan, benefiting 494 million people. Among these, over 18.3 million cars were traded in, over 192 million home appliances were traded in, and over 91 million mobile phones and other digital products were purchased.
Trade-in programs are driving industrial upgrading. In the automobile trade-in program, new energy vehicles account for nearly 60%, driving a doubling of sales in the domestic new energy passenger vehicle market; in the home appliance trade-in program, energy-efficient products account for over 90%; and in the purchase of new mobile phones and other digital products, mid-to-high-end models account for 72.5% of sales.
A large number of green, low-carbon, and intelligent new products have entered people's lives, continuously improving their quality of life while also promoting the green transformation of the economy. Over the past two years, the average annual growth rate of scrapped vehicle recycling has exceeded 45%, reducing carbon emissions by approximately 44 million tons.
At the same time, more consumers are choosing to shop in-store and enjoy subsidies, leading to cross-scenario consumption in leisure, entertainment, and dining. Data from relevant organizations shows that in commercial areas with a high concentration of offline stores participating in the home appliance trade-in program, the consumption of related merchants within a 1-kilometer radius has increased by over 30%.
