The "Best Director" and "Best Screenplay" awards were given to the short films "Transformation into Artificial Intelligence" and "Regret," respectively, with Chinese young director and screenwriter Liu Hanlin winning both awards.
This year's film festival, themed "Let Every Ray of Light Resonate Throughout the World," received over two thousand submissions, with more than one hundred and fifty advancing to the final round. It is reported that in May 2025, Liu Hanlin first systematically proposed the "Public Welfare Genre Film" initiative, based on which he wrote two novels, *China Past: The Great Hero* and *2085*, which were subsequently adapted into two short films, *Regret* and *Transformation*. Liu Hanlin's films have been selected for the 78th Cannes Film Festival, the 20th Show Me Shorts International Film Festival in New Zealand, the India Global Independent Film Festival, the One Shot International Short Film Festival, the Dalmatian Film Festival, and the Armenian International Film Festival.
It is reported that the screenplay for his original science fiction novel "2085" has been completed, and the "public welfare film" feature film project "2085" has entered the preparation stage. According to reports, this work not only tells the story of future humans and technology, but also takes into account the mental health of young people around the world today.
