Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 8 – The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a full-day meeting on January 8 to hear work reports from the leading Party groups of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as a work report from the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech.
The meeting pointed out that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's hearing of work reports from the leading Party groups of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as the work report from the Secretariat of the Central Committee, is an important measure to uphold and improve the system of Party leadership and to implement the centralized and unified leadership of the Central Committee in all areas, aspects, and links of national governance. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, my country's development environment will face profound and complex changes, and the tasks will be arduous and heavy. It is essential to uphold, utilize, and develop the Party's leadership—the greatest advantage—to provide a fundamental guarantee for China's modernization.
The meeting concluded that in the past year, the leading Party groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, firmly upheld the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized and unified leadership, earnestly implemented the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and its subsequent plenary sessions, fulfilled their duties closely around the overall work of the Party and the country, and effectively strengthened the self-construction of their respective Party groups, achieving new results in all aspects of their work.
The meeting concluded that, over the past year, under the leadership of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee earnestly implemented the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, actively fulfilled its duties, and did a great deal of work in completing the tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee, strengthening the construction of intra-party regulations and systems, guiding and promoting the work of mass organizations, and rectifying formalism to reduce the burden on grassroots organizations.
The meeting emphasized that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The Party groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate must take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guide, thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and its subsequent plenary sessions, earnestly implement the arrangements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, uphold the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two establishments," strengthen the "Four Consciousnesses," firm up the "Four Confidences," and achieve the "Two Upholds," always maintaining a high degree of consistency with the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in thought, politics, and action, and implementing all decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee without compromise. They must focus on the major strategic tasks of economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, unify their will, form synergy, jointly promote work in all fields, and strive to achieve a good start. They must establish and practice a correct view of performance, adhering to the principle of achieving performance for the people and through hard work. They must strengthen the self-construction of their Party groups, earnestly fulfill their primary responsibility for comprehensively and strictly governing the Party, and effectively enhance their consciousness and determination in self-revolution.
The meeting emphasized that in the new year, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee should thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and all subsequent plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, earnestly implement the arrangements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and, based on the arrangements and requirements of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and its Standing Committee, focus on fulfilling its responsibilities to ensure the implementation of key tasks such as guiding the implementation of centralized education within the Party, improving the construction of Party regulations and systems, building and reforming mass organizations, and continuously rectifying formalism to reduce the burden on grassroots levels, so as to complete all tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee with high quality.
