January 12 (Xinhua) -- The State Council Information Office held a press conference on January 12 to introduce the preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games.
A reporter asked: The Hainan Free Trade Port has officially launched its island-wide customs closure operation, and this Asian Beach Games is the first major international sporting event since then. What facilitation measures are in place for personnel clearance and the movement of goods at this year's Asian Beach Games?
Xie Jing, vice chairman of the Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee and vice governor of Hainan Province, said that the Hainan Free Trade Port is now fully operational with customs clearance across the island, making it more convenient and efficient for people to enter and exit, and for goods to clear customs more freely and quickly. The city's internationalization level and comprehensive support capabilities have been comprehensively improved, all of which have contributed to the success of the Asian Beach Games.
Regarding the facilitation of personnel exchanges, the Hainan Free Trade Port's visa-free policy has been expanded to 86 countries. Citizens of visa-free countries can conveniently enter the country with their passports and enjoy fast customs clearance services without needing to apply for visas in advance. Meanwhile, in accordance with the practice of international comprehensive large-scale sporting events, foreign participants and media reporters can enter and exit the country multiple times visa-free with their passports or other international travel documents and Sanya Asian Beach Games registration cards.
During the Games, Sanya Phoenix International Airport will serve as the official port of entry and exit, Sanya Station will serve as the official reception point, and dedicated channels for the Asian Beach Games will be set up at the three major airports of Haikou Meilan International Airport, Sanya Phoenix International Airport, and Qionghai Boao International Airport to provide customs clearance assistance, process guidance and transportation services, further enhancing the convenience and experience for participants and spectators.
Xie Jing explained that, in terms of facilitating customs clearance for supplies, the customs will set up a special window for the clearance of Asian Beach Games supplies, equipment, and technical equipment, and implement a "pre-declaration, appointment-based clearance, and immediate release" model to efficiently ensure the import, transit, and post-Games disposal of supplies.
Xie Jing emphasized that Hainan is vigorously improving its infrastructure, management standards, and international service capabilities. In particular, Sanya's new round of urban renewal and upgrading, the construction of an international language environment, smart city management, and green and low-carbon development not only serve the high-level opening-up after the border closure but will also directly provide a sound urban operation guarantee for the Asian Beach Games.
