(Southern Daily News reporter Chen Rongwei, correspondent Ouyang Yueying) On January 10, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Ninth Guangdong Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) was held in Guangzhou. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the meeting comprehensively implemented the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and its subsequent plenary sessions, deeply studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions on Guangdong, studied and implemented the spirit of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the CAPD, implemented the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 15th CAPD Central Committee, and studied and implemented the spirit of the Seventh and Eighth Plenary Sessions of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC and the Provincial Economic Work Conference; heard and deliberated on the work reports of the Standing Committee and the Internal Supervision Committee of the Ninth Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CAPD; reviewed and approved the resolution of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Ninth Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CAPD; and commended relevant advanced collectives and individuals.
The meeting pointed out that 2026 is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The Guangdong Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) should thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and follow the deployment requirements of the CAPD Central Committee and the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. Guided by political construction and focusing on the theme year of social service, it should practice the "three strict requirements," solidly advance its own construction, earnestly fulfill its responsibilities as a participating party, and help Guangdong strive to create new advantages and achieve new breakthroughs at a new starting point. It should firmly grasp the purpose and significance of the theme year of social service and carry out its work in a solid manner. It should effectively strengthen organizational construction, focusing on promoting the development of members in universities and research institutes and improving their organizational structure, and ensuring the standardized construction of "Members' Homes."
