January 12 (Xinhua) -- According to the WeChat official account "City Talks," the State Administration for Market Regulation recently approved the establishment of the National Metrological Instrument Software Testing Station (Inner Mongolia) based on the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Product Quality Inspection and Research Institute. This station aims to build a metrological instrument software testing system and strengthen the anti-cheating capabilities of software for metrological instruments such as fuel dispensers.
With the deep integration of high technologies such as intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence with measuring instruments, software has become the "core module" of measuring instruments. The reliability of measuring instrument software has become a key factor affecting the accuracy, reliability, and credibility of measurement data. In particular, the phenomenon of cheating through software in fuel dispensers and electronic pricing scales, which infringes on consumer rights, occurs frequently, making it urgent to improve the software evaluation capabilities of measuring instruments.
In recent years, the State Administration for Market Regulation has continuously improved its capabilities in testing metrological instrument software, successively approving and issuing technical specifications such as the "Guidelines for Testing Measuring Instrument Software" and the "General Requirements for Identification of Measuring Instrument Software." The establishment of the National Metrological Instrument Software Testing Station (Inner Mongolia) will promote the implementation of relevant technical specifications and accelerate the construction of a metrological instrument software testing system. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Product Quality Inspection and Research Institute, as the technical support unit for the software testing station, has continuously deepened its research and development in fuel dispenser metrological software testing technology. It has taken the lead in breaking through key technologies for identifying fuel dispenser metrological software fraud, achieving a series of domestically leading technological achievements in fuel dispenser metrological fraud detection, identification, and data collection and analysis. It has served more than 100 cities nationwide and assisted in investigating more than 800 cases of fuel dispenser metrological fraud.
The State Administration for Market Regulation will continue to promote the construction of a software evaluation system for measuring instruments, guide the acceleration of the construction of national software evaluation stations for measuring instruments, strengthen research on software evaluation technologies and methods for measuring instruments, consolidate the foundation for accurate and reliable metrological data, support legal metrological supervision, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and better serve the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing industries.
