An air conditioner compressor explosion at a university in Malaysia has resulted in 1 death and 9 injuries.

January 12 (Xinhua) -- According to Singapore's Straits Times, a central air conditioning compressor exploded at a private university in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on January 12, killing one person and injuring nine others, including four students.

Police said the injured person has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The report states that police and fire and rescue departments have conducted inspections to reduce the risk of a secondary explosion.
