Beijing, January 12 (Reporters Huang Yuqin and Zeng Yue) – Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press conference on January 12.

China recently issued a notice regarding strengthening export controls on dual-use items to Japan. At the press conference, a reporter asked, "According to reports, the review of export licenses for rare earths to Japan, including those for civilian use, has been suspended. Is the spokesperson aware of this situation?"

"I suggest you contact the relevant Chinese authorities for specific details," Mao Ning said. He added that China's measures, taken in accordance with laws and regulations, are entirely legitimate, reasonable, and lawful. (End)
