(Photo provided by Datong News Center)"Reverse Time" is a spin-off of the Ministry of Public Security's 1,000-episode micro-drama project on police themes. Previously, during the roadshow of the TV conference on the theme of "Challenges and Opportunities of Television and Online Audiovisual Art under the New Situation", the drama gained attention for its novel cross-time setting and compact narrative structure.
This drama innovatively constructs parallel timelines of 1995 and 2011, using the mysterious 110 VIP room in the "Scala" bar as a connecting point. It allows 2011 detective Xu Weizhang and 1995 police officer Liu Xinjian to have a dialogue spanning 16 years, working together to solve a murder case. Notably, the dual-timeline linkage of mobile phones and traditional brick phones not only adds a touch of science fiction and suspense but also, through plot elements such as the "butterfly effect" and "history rewriting," allows viewers to experience the unique charm of cross-time collaboration.
As a tribute to public security heroes, the drama not only creates a suspenseful atmosphere but also delves into the cultural background of the public security system. It uses a cross-time and space manhunt setting to outline the mission inheritance of two generations of public security officers, accurately recreating the life scenes and case-handling methods of 1995. By contrasting these with the symbols of the times such as smart policing systems and big data investigation equipment in 2011, it not only creates a strong visual difference but also allows the audience to intuitively feel the transformation of public security work from "sweat-based policing" to "smart policing" over the past 16 years.
It is understood that "Reset" is directed by Xin Peng, who has directed works such as "Tang Dynasty Ghost Stories" and "Jiangcheng Ghost Stories", with Huang Biao and Niu Xing'an as screenwriters, and starring Jin Han, Jiang Yiyan, Cao Weiyu and other actors.
The entire filming of "Reset" took place in Datong, injecting fresh vitality into the local film and television industry. Furthermore, through the widespread influence of film and television, it will comprehensively showcase Datong's urban charm, helping Datong's cultural and tourism resources reach the whole country and building an important bridge for the integrated development of local culture and tourism.
