Cargo loading and unloading volume steadily increased
The world's largest container ship is scheduled to dock here for 45 hours and complete the loading and unloading of 16,000 TEUs. Data from the port's operations department shows that 12 container ships are currently operating simultaneously in the Meishan Port area, and the total container handling volume for today is expected to exceed 40,000 TEUs.
In less than a week since the start of 2026, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port has already handled more than 750 ships and completed a container throughput of 826,000 TEUs, representing a year-on-year increase of over 10%. In 2025, the total container throughput exceeded 43 million TEUs, firmly ranking among the top three in the world.

The fact that such a large-scale operation is carried out in such an orderly manner is due to a comprehensive intelligent system. Intelligent container trucks operating within the port area can coexist with manned container trucks without interfering with each other.

On December 26, 2025, the Tiaozhoumen Channel, the second 300,000-ton deep-water main channel in the core port area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, officially entered the substantive operation stage, marking Ningbo-Zhoushan Port's entry into the "dual channel" era.
Two 300,000-tonnage shipping lanes serve as "main arteries" of the sea, saving over 230 million yuan in transportation costs annually. Every container movement and every lifting operation testifies to the increasingly close ties between China and the world.
