A Good Start to the 15th Five-Year Plan: Cross-River Supply, Government Inspections... Low-Altitude Economy Empowers People's Livelihoods and All Industries

The 15th Five-Year Plan proposed to build emerging pillar industries and accelerate the development of strategic emerging industry clusters such as the low-altitude economy. Not long ago, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, established a low-altitude intelligent operation hub. At the beginning of the year, this center began to bustle with activity. What's the situation there now? CCTV reporters take you to find out.

Intelligent central hub oversees airspace to ensure flight safety

CCTV reporter Yang Ying: In the Nanjing Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park, if drone flights had their own Spring Festival travel rush, this would be the busiest "hub." The large screen displays the "smart brain" of Nanjing's low-altitude economy. At this moment, all flight operations, approvals, and scheduling in the city's low-altitude flight sector are managed through this integrated system. Each dot on the screen represents a drone in flight, with its real-time status and flight path clearly displayed.

Drones shuttle across the river

Solving the pain points of crew resupply

Drones act as "aerial couriers," delivering supplies to ships on the Yangtze River. In the past, resupplying crew members required them to dock at the shore or use a shuttle boat, which had to cross the river, a process that was not only time-consuming and costly but also posed certain safety risks.

Now, drones can be used to precisely deliver takeout, express delivery, and other supplies directly to ships in motion, greatly saving time and costs.

Implementation in multiple scenarios

Low-altitude economy empowers people's livelihoods and all industries

The Jiangsu Provincial Blood Center launched a drone blood transport route just two weeks ago. Blood transport requires speed and precise temperature control, and traditional land transport is inevitably affected by traffic conditions. Drone transport can precisely solve this problem.

With continuous technological advancements, the applications of drones have expanded to include government inspections, long-distance delivery, and even high-rise building curtain wall cleaning. The safe and orderly operation of these diverse applications relies heavily on an efficient management system.

The first platform in the country that allows users to quickly apply for and approve flight plans via WeChat mini-program allows qualified users to submit flight plans, including route information, and complete the process in as little as one day.

From delivering supplies on the river to delivering a bag of life-saving blood to a hospital, and conducting routine inspections over the city, drones are integrating into every aspect of our lives through a series of practical applications.
