Beijing, January 12 (Reporter Guo Xuan) – The State Council Information Office held a press conference in Beijing on the 12th to introduce the preparations for the 6th Asian Beach Games. Xie Jing, Vice Chairman of the Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee and Vice Governor of Hainan Province, stated at the conference that the Asian Beach Games will serve as a link to connect the island's unique tourism resources and launch a series of high-quality "spectator + leisurely tour" routes across the island.
The 6th Asian Beach Games will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province, from April 22 to 30. Xie Jing said that this Asian Beach Games is the first large-scale international comprehensive sports event after the Hainan Free Trade Port was fully operational, and it carries the important mission of showcasing the achievements of the Free Trade Port's construction and consolidating the cultural foundation for building an Asian community with a shared future. Currently, preparations are in their final stage.
Xie Jing explained that the Sanya Asian Beach Games will closely integrate with the construction of the international tourism island's consumption center, deepening the integration of "sports + tourism." As an important tropical island province in my country, Hainan boasts excellent tourism resources. After years of tourism development, it has relatively complete tourism reception service facilities, convenient transportation networks, and a wealth of distinctive tourism products and routes, making it a popular tourist destination in China and the Asia-Pacific region.
Xie Jing stated that the Asian Beach Games will serve as a link to connect the island's unique tourism resources and launch a "watching the games + leisurely tour" boutique route across the island, allowing spectators and athletes to immerse themselves in the beauty of the island scenery, the wonder of the tropical rainforest, the charm of the Li and Miao ethnic customs, and the pleasure of duty-free shopping while participating in the games.
Xie Jing further pointed out that in terms of cultural and tourism activities, the province will launch the "Following the Games to Tour Hainan" experience project, release a "Recommended Restaurants for the Asian Beach Games" map, and collaborate with well-known scenic spots in Sanya to launch Asian Beach Games-themed cultural and tourism activities. These initiatives will allow citizens and tourists to appreciate more of Hainan's beautiful scenery and delicious food, experience Hainan's diverse culture, and promote the deep integration and flourishing of beach sports with coastal cultural tourism and the unique industries of the Free Trade Port.
