On January 11, the Fifth Congress of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association was held at the Museum of Modern Chinese Literature. Qiu Huadong, member of the Party Leadership Group, Vice Chairman, and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association, attended and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Qiu Huadong fully affirmed the work of the Fourth Council of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association. He pointed out that since its establishment, the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association has always served as a bridge connecting writers of all ethnic groups, playing an important role in promoting ethnic minority literary creation, facilitating the integration of ethnic cultures, and strengthening the sense of community of the Chinese nation. He hoped that the new council would continue to unite and guide the vast number of ethnic minority writers, adhere to the people's standpoint, cultivate the fertile literary soil for the construction of the Chinese nation's community, and create more high-quality works that showcase the spirit of the times and are rich in ethnic characteristics, contributing to the prosperity of socialist literature and art.
The meeting reviewed and approved the work report and financial report of the fourth council of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association, as well as the revised "Constitution of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association." Subsequently, the first meeting of the fifth council of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Writers Association was held, electing the leadership of the fifth council. Ran Ran was elected president, and Ma Jinlian, Yerkesi Hulmanbek, Liu Daxian, Xiao Qin, Mei Zhuo, and Lu Ruodiqi were elected vice presidents. Liu Daxian was elected secretary-general.
