Tianjin, January 12 (Reporter Zhou Yaqiang) -- The main pier steel trestle bridge of the Dalian Changhai Bridge, constructed by China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. (China Construction Silk Road), was successfully joined together under frigid conditions, marking a significant step forward in the accelerated construction of the main bridge of this largest cross-sea bridge in Northeast China, according to the Tianjin-based state-owned enterprise.

The steel trestle bridge, now joined together, is 400 meters long and 9 meters wide, serving as a crucial transportation corridor for the main pier construction of the main navigation channel bridge of the Dalian Changhai Bridge. This "steel corridor" is supported by a single row of three 820mm diameter steel pipe piles, with a Bailey bridge structure combined with steel sections on top. The bridge deck is paved with anti-slip patterned steel plates. Its meticulous design and stable structure will provide a safe and efficient guarantee for the subsequent material transportation and mechanical operations of the main bridge structure.

It is understood that the Dalian Changhai Bridge is approximately 25.5 kilometers long, with about 19 kilometers across the sea and about 6.5 kilometers on land. The entire project is constructed to first-class highway standards, featuring a two-way four-lane design. It is the largest land-island highway project under construction in my country in terms of investment, the only land-island bridge project in a border county of an island in my country, and the largest and longest cross-sea bridge project in Northeast China.

Project officials stated that once completed, the bridge will effectively break the bottleneck in land-island transportation and will be of great significance to improving the national highway network layout and promoting coordinated regional economic and social development. (End)
