A single World Heritage property can include several locations; a hotel near a listed site does not inherit that designation. Before you go
Leave room to observe everyday life rather than treating every neighborhood as a staged attraction. Ask before photographing people or entering a workshop. In places of worship, follow posted rules and the guidance of the people responsible for the site. Buying a local craft is optional; learning about the maker can be as valuable as making a purchase.
