Jinan, Shandong is also a famous cultural city with great historical connotations. As the core city of the Qi and Lu regions, it has gained more dignity in its ancient atmosphere. Jinan has a very unique climate and a rather peculiar geographical environment, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations.
I got off the train at Jinan East at around 5am. When I left the train station, I saw a ramen restaurant in the corridor. In the dim sky and lights, the dirt on the ground was painted with colors by the mop. So I saw the dirtiness of Jinan for the first time. There was a strange smell in the air, probably because there was little wind. It was sticky and suffocating. There was a lot of garbage everywhere in Jinan Station, and many garbage cans were half-open, which was a bit annoying.
Daming Lake
We crossed a street and entered Daming Lake, which has long been open to the public for free. The chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers are the main theme of beauty, and the lush branches and leaves are the premature heat of Jinan. Pavilions and terraces are scattered around the four sides of Daming Lake. Mr. Ba Jin's memorial hall is not open to visitors yet, and ancient buildings such as Tiegong Temple are also guarded by iron generals.
The lake is very vast, with withered lotus leaves and plump fish splashing on the water. The tone of the lake and water is probably not much different from when Qianlong and Xia Yuhe met, but it has long lost the original feeling. This feeling is almost a kind of humanistic care. Just like what Chen Xiaoxiong sang in the folk song "But I don't know what Jinan is like."
The Daming Lake now is probably like a huge fitness park. Haunted houses, square dances, cinemas and other amusement park facilities have also become standard features of Daming Lake. Various square dance music, advertising broadcasts, and tourists' abuse have become key items that have negative points. "Daming Lake" was held in the hands of the sanitation lady, and the Daming Lake in my heart was thrown into such a trash can. The sense of gap is so big.
I only visited two-thirds of Daming Lake, leaving one-third in my own fantasy. I hope it will be as beautiful as I imagined.
After leaving Daming Lake, we continued our journey on foot. It was then that I realized that Jinan is still a very beautiful city, with clean and tidy streets, cultural atmosphere and heritage everywhere, and the commercial district is not crowded or chaotic. It should be except for the railway station, or maybe what I saw was Jinan that was evacuated after being destroyed by tourists.

Wulongtan
Wulongtan, which is one bus stop away from Daming Lake, is one of the most scenic springs in Jinan, along with Daming Lake and Baotu Spring. The ticket price of five yuan is not expensive and is worth the money. Most tourists go directly to the other two famous lakes, but this place is quiet. The roses in the garden are nestled against the mountains and waters and the authentic Tang-style buildings, and the green bamboos are hidden. There is a small scene every five steps and a big scene every ten steps. Pavilions and terraces are scattered in the eleventh spring of the seventy-two famous springs in Jinan. The spring water is clear and mellow, and various carps swim in between, adding to the wildness.
What is particularly worthy of praise is the restoration and preservation of the truly pure Tang-style buildings here, which should be rare in the country. Tanxi Pavilion, Xianqing Waterside Pavilion, Qinqiong Temple, the former site of the Communist Party of China, and Wuzhongqi Seal Carving and Calligraphy Museum are all wonderful and brilliant.
Qin Qiong Temple is located in the north of the park. The architecture of the Tang Dynasty is so attractive. Sitting on a stone bench in the temple, looking around, an uncle sat down next to me and started a conversation. As the conversation deepened, I knew that he also liked ancient buildings and colleges in various places, and he had been to many places in the world. With the same interests, I was able to learn from him humbly. When visiting Qin Qiong Temple, "Folk legends say that Qin Shubao was so loyal that he stabbed his friend in the back. The nine heavens and the four seas admired Qin Shubao. Historical records show that he fought and captured the enemy chieftain 200 times, and blood shed several buckets. The three armies were all subdued by Hu Guogong." Let's go with heroic spirit!

Baotu Spring
Baotu Spring is just across the street from the south gate of Wulongtan. There were already many people standing in line when I was queuing. When I really entered, I found that it was a sea of people. Baotu Spring is a scene within a scene, a garden within a garden, so it is also a scene within a people, and a garden within a people. It is so lively.
Baotu Spring has many inscriptions and historical sites, and is the birthplace of Jinan's spring culture.
There are uncles wading in the spring water in front of Luoyuan to wash the silt. Entering Luoyuan is like entering an antique street, with many shops, ancient and quaint, but also with different kinds of cultural relics. You can't help but walk in.
Two seals are kept in a deep pool behind Luoyuan, hiding in the shallow water from the curious eyes of tourists. The scenery of Guanlan Pavilion is the core of the entire Baotu Spring. The small square pond is surrounded by three layers of land inside and outside. Opposite the square pond bridge is the Guanlan Pavilion with a vermilion lacquer red pavilion. There is a monument in the pavilion with the words "Huan", and the inscription on the right side of the pavilion is "The First Spring". The monument on the left side is "Baotu Spring". The real spring water is not as vigorous as before, but it is still full of vitality.
In the open-air theater behind Guanlan Pavilion, actors took turns performing humorous and funny Shandong Kuaishu, and the audience was full of joy and laughter.

Shandong University
The charm of Shandong University lies in its "oldness". It has a solid foundation in school management, scientific research, and funding; a campus environment and buildings with a long cultural history; and a broad and tolerant mindset... Shandong University is also a merger of multiple schools, but it has retained the old buildings and runs schools on site. The maintenance and repair of the old buildings is based on maintaining their original appearance. It has a wide range of students and attracts international students.
The development of Shandong University is in sync with the construction of the surrounding infrastructure, so it fits in very well with the entire city. But perhaps because of the May Day holiday, I didn't see many students, which is a great pity.

Thousand Buddha Mountain
Every city must have a famous mountain, either in the city or outside. Perhaps it is fate that I can complete this task intentionally or unintentionally every time - visiting mountains in every city.
Climbing a mountain with several kilograms of weight is a physical activity. On this day, we climbed Qianfo Mountain for the legendary "Ten Thousand Buddhas Paying Homage to the Buddha". In the end, we did not see any Buddhas, but we did see thousands of stone steps.
The mountains are green, and there are five or six Buddhist temples and Taoist temples scattered on both sides of the main road leading up the mountain. The rest of the space is filled with antique shops and small vendors selling souvenirs, specialties and incense. Looking at the whole scene, there were shouts everywhere, thick smoke from special incense, and kowtows and bows everywhere... piety is equal to a formal competition.
I came across an open-air book stall offering discounts halfway up the mountain, and I couldn't resist buying a book to add weight to my bag.
There is no need to look at maps or signboards on the way up the mountain, just follow the huge crowd. Look at the cliff carvings and reclining Buddha halfway up the mountain, the panoramic view of Jinan lakes and mountains at the top of the mountain, and the huge stone statues of Guanyin and Maitreya on the way down the mountain. I always feel that they are leisurely and comfortable living by the mountains and rivers, and what makes me laugh is the various forms of the world.

The End
Qianfo Mountain is the last stop in Jinan. After descending the mountain and solving all the problems we encountered temporarily, it was still dark. I read the latest Southern Weekend on the steps along the street for a while, digested the food, and then started the 10-kilometer hike to the railway station, using my camera to record the details and colorful nightlife of Jinan people.
In fact, it is easy to be impressed and infected by the charm of this city. The peaceful, civilized and happy residents, the comfortable and warm urban environment with the fragrance of flowers, and even the night view of Jinan have a unique flavor. I just hope that the unhappiness of the first arrival and the last departure from the train station will fade, because it cannot affect the mood of a city.
