Urumqi, January 12 (Chang Haici, Yao Ye, Qiu Shuqi) -- According to the latest statistics released by the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Company on the 12th, the electricity sales of the Xinjiang power grid reached 218.336 billion kilowatt-hours in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. This marks the second consecutive year that Xinjiang's electricity sales have exceeded 200 billion kilowatt-hours, setting a new historical record. This data vividly illustrates the high-quality development of Xinjiang's economy and society, reflecting the booming industrial sector, recovering consumption, and improving livelihoods across the Xinjiang region.
Electricity data serves as a barometer of economic activity. In 2025, the tertiary sector of Xinjiang's power grid saw particularly significant growth in electricity demand, with sales reaching 54.034 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 24.75% of the total industry sales, a year-on-year increase of 12.15%, making it the main engine driving overall industry sales growth. Among these, the information transmission, software, and information technology services sector saw sales of 3.976 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 28.24%, leading all sub-sectors of the tertiary industry and demonstrating the solid progress of Xinjiang's digital economic transformation. Residential electricity consumption also achieved steady growth, with sales reaching 24.035 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 7.47%, strongly evidenced by the continuous improvement in people's well-being.

This achievement stems from the accelerated popularization of electric vehicles in Xinjiang, and is inseparable from the continuous improvement of charging infrastructure. In recent years, State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power has actively promoted the layout of charging facilities, introduced more than 60 supporting policies, coordinated the construction of key scenarios such as rural revitalization and cultural tourism development, and guided the broad participation of social capital. It has achieved full coverage of public charging facilities in 97 counties (districts) and 1,186 townships within the Xinjiang power grid, effectively addressing the "range anxiety" of new energy vehicle owners and laying a solid foundation for the green transformation of Xinjiang's energy structure.
